The formula “Hard Work = Success = Happiness” doesn’t seem to add-up in today’s increasingly complex work environment. In our complex world this formula is actually repeatedly missing the mark. Why? Because this formula is scientifically backward! A decade of research shows that training your brain to be positive at work results in greater success. In fact, 75% of your job success is due to your optimism, social support network, and the ability to manage energy and stress in a positive way. 


Based on the science of positive psychology and case studies of working with companies in the midst of an economic collapse, Devin provides practical applications for raising the belief that individual behavior matters and helping leaders to keep teams motivated and engaged.

About the Presenter:


Devin C. Hughes is a personal and organizational development aficionado, keynote speaker, author and frequent eclectic thinker. He is best known for his expertise in the science of happiness, organizational and cultural change, and leadership development.  He is an avid storyteller who has the unique ability to connect with audiences by inspiring them to be the change they wish to see in the world.

Devin has been consulting, training, speaking and writing about personal development and organizational change for the last decade. Devin’s unique background and success story truly sets him apart from most professional speakers and guest lecturers. It’s for this very reason that people come away from his keynotes entertained, inspired and motivated – but more importantly, with the practical, applicable, actionable tactics and strategies for acting on their inspiration and motivation.  

Devin received his BA in Sociology/Anthropology from Colgate University (1991).  His website is http://www.devinchughes.com. He is the author of Contrast: A Biracial Man’s Journey to Desegregate His Past, as well as the comic, Self-Talk, which is intended for kids who are struggling to fit-in, alienated from their peers and disconnected from friends and family. He lives in San Diego, CA with his wife and four daughters.

You are registered and should receive an email confirmation. It is not necessary to click "Pay Online" if you intend to pay at the door.
