45 years in 45 minutes:

Learning & Development, Wherefore art thou?
Featuring Lance Dublin

Question: If you had the chance to have a master of your profession, a recognized leader in the field at the summit of a long and distinguished career distill all his lessons-learned from the challenges, breakthroughs, insights, and “ah-ha moments” down to a 45-minute mentoring session for the ages, would you take it?

Well, then this is your one chance

Lance Dublin has been a learning and development professional for over 45 years. Lance began his career by re-inventing his own high school by co-founding one of the first “University Without Walls” programs in the US, Antioch College/West (now Antioch University).  He then went on to found The Dublin Group, a leader for over 15 years in developing custom solutions to enable and enhance workforce performance, and in implementing large-scale change initiatives.  For the most recent 15 years, Lance has been consulting in the areas of:

  • Revitalizing learning
  • Implementing change
  • Transforming organization
Along the way, he became a recognized leader in the field, authored and co-authored a number of books and articles, and delivered more than 500 talks, workshops, concurrent sessions, workshops and keynotes at industry conferences around the world.

“Lance challenges dogma and established models to lead people to breakthroughs!”

As one might imagine, over that time he has seen a lot, done a lot, worked in all types of organizations from small to mega, and from national to international. This afforded Lance the opportunity to collaborate, share with and learn from some highly-esteemed colleagues in learning & development, and a wide range of other fields. He made mistakes and hit some out of the park, but throughout his career he learned and gained valuable perspectives.

In this session, Lance will distill the past 45 years into his "top ten lessons learned” such as:

  • Mistakes to avoid
  • Specific learnings to act upon - Post Haste
  • Breakthrough insights that will change and expand your perspective
  • And so much, much more

Before concluding, you get the opportunity to get your questions answered, challenge his ideas and have yours challenged as well, and to engage in what should be a lively and thought-provoking discussion, all of which (as anyone who knows Lance can tell you), he truly encourages and enjoys.

  • You’ll gain a longer-term and more expansive perspective on the learning & development field from an industry leader
  • You’ll be challenged to look at your work and your career in new and different ways
  • You’ll develop new insights into the field that may well change your future

Who should attend?

Trainers, developers, coaches, managers, executives, workplace learning and performance improvement specialists

At past sessions, everyone from entry-level to CLOs have raved at how much they gained from hearing Lance talk (“The Creative Abrasionist”)
