Reimagining Leadership Development:
Lessons From Kaiser Permanente

...

with

Angie Kutlik

Most organizations will agree about the importance of leadership development to the success of their businesses. In recent year, much emphasis has been placed on aligning leadership programs to the business strategy (and rightly so), dollars are allocated, excellent are programs created that develop the leadership competencies necessary for driving strategic outcome, yet results of those programs are still questionable.  Much of the business literature suggests that a primary concern of the “C-Suite” is to develop leaders in their current roles, and to prepare them to take on future roles.  So what happened?

In this interactive session, we will:

  • Explore how we might question conventional wisdom in order to reimagine how we develop leaders.
  • Assess the current state of our programs
  • Begin to define an ideal state
  • Examine what the latest science tells us we must consider in our program designs
  • Identify the mindset shifts necessary to rethink your approach to leadership development
  • Conduct a best practice share-a-thon (ours, yours, others)

We’ll surface leadership transformation best practices, new approach and ideas, and empower you to take a fresh look at how we might take programs from good to great. Will you leave this session with all the answers? Of course not, but participants will leave with a greater ability to ask the right questions that lead to the right answers and considerations for transforming their leadership development solutions.
