Many of us probably can’t remember the last time we were in a library or even thought about using one. We might be surprised, therefore, to discover that the lines between physical and virtual libraries are quickly vanishing. Contemporary libraries remain a treasure trove of information for learning and development professionals.

The presentation will include tips on getting the most out of onsite and online library use in a Web 2.0 world.

Presenter: Paul Signorelli is a writer, trainer, and consultant working with libraries and nonprofit organizations. In nearly 15 years with the San Francisco Public Library system, he designed and implemented the Library’s first Volunteer Services program. He later became Director, Volunteer Services & Staff Training, before establishing his consulting business. Paul is an active member of the American Library Association’s training group (CLENE). He consults with Infopeople on training programs in California libraries and writes about training, Web 2.0, and leadership for Infopeople’s Infoblog and CLENE’s CE Buzz blog. Paul recently co-authored an article on trainers as leaders within libraries (American Libraries, November 2008). He will be presenting a pre-conference workshop, “Making It Stick: Designing, Delivering, and Surviving Presentations,” at the American Library Association annual conference in Chicago in June 2009.
