Putting the Power Back Into Powerpoint

Present Like a Star? You bet!

Do you believe that sitting through PowerPoint presentations is the bane of corporate life?

Presentation software isn't about to go away, because there's no substitute for its ability to focus attention, mix media, and deliver a multi-sensory experience that accords with people's various learning styles.  That's provided PowerPoint is used properly.

Executives such as Apple CEO Steve Jobs and environmental activist Al Gore have raised the PowerPoint presentation to an art form.  The good news is that far less exalted and highly-produced PowerPoint presentations can be extremely effective for everyday business professionalsundefinedif  they learn the presentation skills that are too often overlooked by even the most experienced learning and development professionals.

This presentation emphasizes nine skills you will learn:

  1. Visual thinking
  2. The power of asymmetry
  3. The rule of thirds
  4. How to effectively display data
  5. How to make the presentation about you rather than the slides
  6. Adding the "touch factor"
  7. How to properly interact with PowerPoint slides
  8. Using silence and strategic pauses
  9. Creating the unforgettable moment

You will leave this interactive session with the tools and examples so you can start “Putting the Power Back into PowerPoint,” including:

  • The proper use and power of visual communication
  • How to take command of your presentation (and the room)
  • How to make your presentation memorable
